1891

FOUNDATION YEAR

In 1891 Innocente Riganti founds the company in Solbiate Arno (Varese) starting a craftsmanlike forging production mainly focused in farming tools

1914

1911

NEW NAME

In 1911 the company is officially registered as “Officine meccaniche Innocente Riganti” joining the newly born Italian stock companies association (Assonime). Starting as artisanal forging shop In less than three decades Riganti becomes a leading manufacturing company with more than 150 employees

1929 - 1936

GLOBAL CRISIS

1929 global crisis has a severe impact on the whole manufacturing industry worldwide. Starting from 1936 Riganti overcomes the business slowdown and the consequent financial distress also thanks to a public loan granted by IMI (Istituto Mobiliare Italiano)

1939

FIRST GENERATIONAL HANDOVER

After Innocente’s death in 1939, the company lead passes to the second generation represented by his two sons Emilio and Pino

1940 - 1950

DURING AND AFTER WORLD WAR II

Since not focused on military supply, the company goes through a new period of uncertainty with relevant reduction of revenues and profitability.
Once the war is over, Riganti picks up its business also thanks to the infrastructural rebuilding plans promoted by the public institutions. In that context Riganti plays a main role in electrification projects supplying forged components used for High Voltage lines development

1960-1970

THE YEARS OF BOOM

During the sixties and seventies Riganti, being run by Pino until 1967, then by his nephews Tino and Franco of the 3rd generation, focuses on the core business i.e. Hot Drop Forging. Besides, the ownership reinforces the company organisation making the business grow in terms of facilities, personnel, customer portfolio and revenues

1980-1990

NEW MANAGEMENT IN THE 80's

In 1984 the company changes its name in “Riganti S.p.A.”

In the second half of the decade the managing structure is extended including key figures hired outside of the family context. Meanwhile the company faces a new crisis due to a general negative industry conjunture made worse by the too heavy overall cost structure

1990-2000

TURNAROUND UNDER THE 4TH GENERATION

At the beginning of the decade Emilio and Marco succeed to their parents in leading the company. Their commitment is immediately focused on a challenging turnaround plan that is accomplished by the end of the 90’s

2001-2021

CURRENT YEARS

Since 2000 the company establishes itself as a leading company in the forging industry at international level. In 2002 a new plant is added as raw material warehouse, cutting and finishing operation shops and shipping department. In 2006 a new forging facility is built to host the most powerful forging line i.e. 40.000 Kgm within the historical plant in Via Vittorio Veneto.
In 2021 Riganti celebrates its 130th foundation anniversary
